ONTARIO ASSOCIATION OF FIRE EDUCATORS

About Us

Objects

The Objects of the Corporation of the Ontario Association of Fire Educators are the establishment and operation of a professional association for fire department members in Ontario for the purposes of:

  • Creating and providing modern, effective public education resources for the fire service and general public
  • Arranging and/or facilitating the professional and personal development of fire & life safety educators
  • Advocating for fire & life safety educators and the general public in matters affecting public education
  • Providing a professional network platform for fire & life safety educators across the Province

History

Formerly the Ontario Fire & Life Safety Educators (OFLSE), a subcommittee of the Ontario Association of Fire Chiefs (OAFC), we have pursued the modernization and increased profile of public education for over a decade. As OFLSE, our goal was to provide resources and a voice for fire department members charged with public education responsibilities. Working closely with OAFC and other stakeholders, OFLSE Committee members have generously donated their time and efforts to raise the profile of Public Education, establish integral working relationships and offer training/development opportunities across Ontario.
