This interactive and insightful workshop helps participants explore their unique personality styles using the Personality Dimensions® framework. Rooted in leading-edge research on temperament theory and personality type, the session promotes self-awareness, appreciation of differences, and stronger interpersonal communication.

1:00 PM to 2:30 PM – Winning Hearts and Minds, Saving Lives and Property!

Michael Lewis is back this year with an engaging and motivational session focused on turning fire safety education into meaningful action. Learn practical strategies to inspire community members, families, seniors, and businesses to take fire prevention seriously and adopt life-saving fire safety practices. From smoke and carbon monoxide alarms to fire extinguishers and kitchen safety, this presentation reinforces the importance of prevention and the lasting impact of effective public education.

Wednesday October 21

8:45 AM – 9:45 AM – Supporting Autism and Neurodiversity in Emergency Response

Jamie Kovacs and Autism Canada Executive Director Jamie McCleary will provide an update on the Fire Marshal’s Public Fire Safety Council (FMPFSC) and its expanding partnership with Autism Canada. Members will learn about current efforts to support autistic and neurodivergent individuals during emergency situations, as well as practical strategies and best practices that can help firefighters deliver safer, more effective, and inclusive emergency response services.

10:00 AM – 10:30 AM – OAFE Program of the Year Award and Presentation

This session will celebrate excellence in fire education by announcing and honoring this year’s winning fire department. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from the best as the winning department presents their innovative and effective fire education program.

10:30 AM – 12:00 PM – Rapid-Fire Networking for Fire Educators

The “Speed Networking” session will provide a dynamic platform for fire educators to rapidly connect with peers, share experiences, and expand their professional networks. Participants will engage in brief, timed interactions, fostering valuable connections and potential collaborations within the fire education community.

Our association is committed to creating and providing modern, effective public education resources for the fire service and the general public. Your role in this mission is invaluable, as you are the front-line educators who bring these resources to life in our communities across Ontario.

This year, we’re excited to announce several initiatives that will enhance our collective impact:

    • Professional development opportunities: We’re arranging and facilitating professional and personal development programs to keep you at the forefront of fire safety education.

    • Collaboration with partners: We’re strengthening our partnerships, including our ongoing collaboration with the OMFPOA and NFPA for our quarterly webinar series.

    • New board members: We’re thrilled to welcome three new board members who will bring fresh perspectives to our organization.
