ONTARIO ASSOCIATION OF FIRE EDUCATORS

NFPA Workshop

The Ontario Association of Fire Educators (OAFE) and the Ontario Municipal Fire Prevention Officers (OMFPOA) are thrilled to be teaming up to bring YOU a series of short (easy to fit in to your schedule) workshops with NFPA.

Join us for the first in the series, focused on holiday safety messaging!

We know we need to disseminate holiday safety messages, but where do we find accurate, consistent messages and how do we reach our target audiences?

In this 45-minutes session, NFPA Regional Director Laura King walks us through the NFPA messaging on topics ranging from cooking to Christmas trees, the accompanying accurate messaging, resources and materials (social media and others), and best practices for a time of year when people are easily distracted.

Be prepared to use your laptop – we’ll put together a holiday safety package during the session so that videos, posts, activities, and messages are at your fingertips for the festive season!

When: November 30, 2022

Time: 10:00 – 11:00 AM

Dear Member:

As the President of the Ontario Association of Fire Educators (OAFE), I am delighted to have you as a member of the OAFE. Your dedication to fire safety education and prevention is the cornerstone of our organization’s success.

Our association is committed to creating and providing modern, effective public education resources for the fire service and the general public. Your role in this mission is invaluable, as you are the front-line educators who bring these resources to life in our communities across Ontario.

This year, we’re excited to announce several initiatives that will enhance our collective impact:

    • Professional development opportunities: We’re arranging and facilitating professional and personal development programs to keep you at the forefront of fire safety education.

    • Collaboration with partners: We’re strengthening our partnerships, including our ongoing collaboration with the OMFPOA and NFPA for our quarterly webinar series.

    • New board members: We’re thrilled to welcome three new board members who will bring fresh perspectives to our organization.

    • Upcoming events: Mark your calendars for our annual conference, where we’ll share best practices, network, and learn from industry experts.

    • Program of the Year: We’re excited to announce the return of the Program of the Year award, recognizing outstanding fire education programs across Ontario.

Remember, our strength lies in our collective knowledge and experience. I encourage you to actively participate, share your ideas, and collaborate with your fellow members.

As we move forward, let’s continue to work together to create safer communities across Ontario. Your passion and expertise are making a real difference in fire prevention and public safety education.

Thank you for your commitment to OAFE and to the safety of all Ontarians. Together, we’re building a safer future.
